Jodie's Bio

Known for her cheerful embrace of color and her inventive techniques evoking “Why didn’t I think of that?” responses Jodie is the author of 30 crafts books and counting.

Right out of the box the very first episode of Jodie’s new television show has already earned Jodie and producer Blue Heron Films accolades from their peers by earning prestigious Communicator, Videographer and Telly awards. Jodie co-created and hosts Friends in the Bee, a magazine-style half hour series that travels the globe bringing fascinating, exciting and often surprising people and places to her viewers and then, back at her studio, she turns that inspiration into a quilt project. Friends in the Bee is Jodie’s answer to the question she is most often asked: “Where do you get your ideas?” The answer is “everywhere,” and Jodie will show her viewers that they can bottle their own brand of creative magic—and she’ll provide the tools to help. Friends in the Bee has been airing on GoodLife and will debut on major networks (not cable--bigger!) in an initial forty markets starting spring 2005, sponsored by local quilt and sewing shops.

In the spring of 2005 Jodie will also be the face of a ground-breaking special interest online network, Quilter’s News Network. Think a TV station on the internet. Broadcast over the internet, Jodie will host the how-to, designer and industry guest, news and new products shows, with new content airing daily.

Jodie is currently embarking upon a new business, Jodie and Company, Inc. Touched by her adventures filming her television show, Jodie brings that experience to quilters in the pages of her new book series Quilting with Jodie in... Each title is centered on a theme dear to quilter’s hearts. The first in her new series of books, Cotton Country, focuses on the family farm in the south--and miules!

It is no surprise that the host of “not your average quilting show” is marrying her profession with another passion; rubber ducks. In fact, her television career was born when the A&E network filmed a segment for a collectibles show in Jodie’s bathroom. (Yes, she had a bathing suit on in that bubble bath scene!) With her chain pieced squares, rotary cutter scissors and fabric bolt Jodie’s Quilting Rubber Duckie is spreading sunshine to quilters.

Jayne's Bio

Jayne Davis is a seasoned practitioner of all the needle arts and other crafts including china painting and ceramics. She spent many years in banking and real estate but always had a basket of projects by the chair at home to “busy the hands” whenever she sat down. That basket is still there along with a nearby pad and pencil to doodle new design ideas.

In partnership with her stepdaughter, Jayne is thrilled to be making her avocation her vocation in Jodie and Company, Inc., a multifaceted design firm.

Gardening is a passion for Jayne and her husband, John. They live in south Florida with their perfect pound puppy Zoey surrounded by a lush tropical garden brimming with way too many orchids hanging in the trees.
